All About
Finding Self-Compassion

Who I Am and What I do.

The Finding Self-Compassion Experience

Life does not come with a map. There are lots of curves and bumps along the way which can be challenging to navigate in the best of circumstances. It’s easy to get off course, feel overwhelmed and lose perspective and when this happens we all want to know that despite our challenges everything will be ok.

How can I help you get back on course?

In a nutshell, I teach you how to thrive in the face of your everyday challenges. My coaching and workshops teach you how to access resources within yourself–resources that you may not even know you have.

I will teach you how to

Treat yourself with kindness and understanding
Be less self-critical
Manage stress and anxiety
Bounce back from disappointments and failures
Improve concentration
Feel less overwhelmed and distracted
I am passionate about teaching specific skills and practices that support your emotional health and wellness so you can be the best you can be.

Why is this important?

In one word: STRESS. The toll that unmitigated stress places on our lives is at an all time high. Students feel it, as do adults and parents. It can hijack our academic, personal and professional lives and leave us feeling overwhelmed, distracted, anxious and depressed.

Managing stress and building emotional resilience is not necessarily intuitive. It’s often not taught at school or learned from parents but we all want to feel less overwhelmed and more empowered. We all need a toolbox of skills and practices we can turn to to when we feel like we are being pulled in too many directions and we begin to feel hijacked by stress. The bottom line is that you can’t perform or feel good about yourself if you’re anxious or self-critical.

My approach to managing stress and building emotional resilience begins with the practice of self-compassion.

Why is FSC different?

My coaching and workshops are different because I bring a wide range of empirically supported/evidence based practices that can make an immediate difference in your life. For me, it’s not only about talk, but also about providing real-world tools to approach life’s daily challenges.

With self-compassion you learn to treat yourself with kindness and understanding instead of harsh criticism in the face of everyday challenges. Research shows that when we are able to support ourselves in this way, we are better able to bounce back from setbacks and failure that are an inevitable part of life.
